About the Author
Stuart Thornton fell in love with the California coast while working at the Big Sur Ranger Station after college. There, he advised visitors on every topic, from campsites to restaurants. Excellent resource for anyone visiting the area and as a native Californian who has moved out of state but has a friend moving to this area I wanted her to have a useful tool to know all the wonderful places she can visit, dine and stay at. Also the information on pricing and transportation is invaluable. The shipping time on this was at rocket speed, excellent, excellent, customer service !
Hard to find a book specifically for this area of California and I really wanted one for that purpose. Would have preferred more color pictures, but it's pretty comprehensive and has more pictures than some travel books. Pretty pleased with it. Arrived quickly and in great condition too.
I ordered this book to accompany us on our trip to Monterey. It was essential for planning our days with detailed information on each destination. Highly recommend.
I usually would not pick up a Moon book as my first choice - but seeing there were no others for this location, I was stuck. Nice book for a great area of CA. Has everything you need to get around and see the sites, without too much fluff. These days, most of the hotel info in these books is useless due to the web, so it was nice that this was not a large section. Just give me info info on the areas and food/amusement options and I'm good. On that note - this book delivered.
