The original idea for Who Laid the Egg hatched early one morning in November . . . I was making breakfast, and my (then) toddler was helping me 'count' the eggs as we took them out of the carton. We were practicing numbers:One egg, two, three.Where do we get eggs?Well, the store, usually--but do you remember gathering eggs?At Oma's?Did you know frogs also lay eggs? Here, let me find you a picture of frog eggs...Just like that! Of course, the idea of making a book had been incubating for a while, even though I didn't know it at the time. I'm not a professional artist, but I had enough experience that a picture book seemed like a fun project--and doable. So, I got out my sketchbook and started sketching.I hope you enjoy it!

This is a nice educational book. I wasn't sure what to expect with its simple cover. I found an educational little story that my two year old granddaughter liked reading together. She thought it was interesting all the different animals that lay eggs and enjoyed guessing which one it was. She made me read it through a few times so she could get it right. That says something!
Great concept, great illustrations, but the organization of the book is very confusing. This is book is not a good a way to learn. It almost feels like the book was designed to make it as long as possible by repeating the same question and image many times in a random order. I wanted to print it and rearrange all the pages and remove the dups.Ali Julia review
This book has great illustrations. They are simple enough to where children can really focus on the animals and what the eggs they lay look like. I like that it keeps children engaged by asking who laid the eggs and is kind of a 'guess who' game in a book.
