The Grauniad typo watch

The Guardian has a reputation for typos. This blog aims to point them out.

BTW, I gave up because The Guardian has too many typos.

I still love the paper (and I want to work for them), but on an average 30 minute read I find about 2-3 typos. How is that possible with all those copy editors they employ?

Gotta watch for those extra spaces guys! I'm pretty sure a spell check would pick up "someo" though ...

Classic. It astounds me that The Grauniad can be so careless with its spell checkers.

The Grauniad's spelling is oh so "speical"

Typo #6, unknown page, 28/7/06

It's the advertising copy that's at fault this time. Gretchen Mol is called Gretchen Mol, not Gretchen Moll.

Typo #5, unknown page, 24/12/05

"ant-war stance", originally uploaded by blackbeltjones.

It's hard to see, but that says "Danger and ant-war stance..."

Typo #4, unknown page, 12/9/05

El-oh-el, "Opinion poles".

They got the freaking day wrong.

Not so much a typo as a really bad formatting error. Those writers (David Leigh and Rob Evans) must be pissed: I would be.

"use d" should be "used". Front page, lead article. Must try better.
